ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the accused involved in the Machh tragedy do not deserve any concession. He expressed sorrow over the death of Osama Satti. Action should be taken against the police personnel involved in the incident as per law. According to media reports, a meeting of the Federal Cabinet was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which Fateha was offered for the workers killed in the Machh tragedy and Osama Satti who was killed in police firing in Islamabad.
In the federal cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister expressed regret over the Machh tragedy and the killing of young Osama Satti by the police in the federal capital. The Prime Minister directed to take strict measures to prevent such incidents and said that such ruthless people should not be in the police. The Prime Minister directed that action should be taken against the police personnel involved in the incident in accordance with the law and the accused involved in the Machh tragedy should be arrested immediately. The Prime Minister was briefed on the growing cases of Corona and arrangements for their redressal. Appeals under the Trade Organization Act were heard by the Cabinet. The meeting also approved the Chairman Board of Directors of Pakistan Expo Centers. The matter of appointment of members of the Press Council of Pakistan and formation of an inspection committee for registration of fish processing plants was discussed. Rana Abdul Jabbar, CEO of Alternative Energy Development Board The issue of his resignation was also considered by the Cabinet and the Prime Minister accepted the resignation of Abdul Jabbar. The December 17 decision of the Cabinet Committee on Institutional Reforms was ratified. The December 31 decisions of the Cabinet Committee on Legislation Cases were also ratified. The construction of a multi-story building between the Railways and the Ministry of Defense was postponed. The Cabinet meeting approved the formation of an inspection committee on the registration of fish processing plants, while in 1997, the matter of reviewing the Cabinet decision on Establishment was postponed. Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Home Affairs Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Dr. Babar Awan called on the Prime Minister and apprised him of the talks held between Sheikh Rashid and the victims of the Machh tragedy and its victims. A briefing was given on the issue of Sati's murder. During the meeting, the overall security and political situation of the country were discussed.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the victims of the Machh tragedy would not be left alone, the government would go to the utmost to provide justice to the victims and would use all its resources to bring the accused involved in the incident to justice. Justice will also be done to the family of young Osama Satti. The Prime Minister said that the country has a democratic government and in a democracy, everyone has the right to protest so the opposition should not be stopped from protesting. The Prime Minister directed the Federal Minister for Home Affairs to take stern action against those who took the law into their own hands. He said that massive reforms should be made in the police so that the police should be allowed to protest in front of the Election Commission without any hindrance. Incidents like Osama can be remedied.
